UPDATE AND CELEBRATE AS WE SHARE
ANOTHER YEAR OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

It’s that time again—time to share the news of the past year at the annual meeting of San Mateo Credit Union.  Please join us Thursday, May 27, 2010, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. for this special event. The meeting will be held at our corporate headquarters located at 350 Convention Way, Redwood City.

All of our member-owners are cordially invited to join us for this informative update. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet and greet fellow members, staff, and volunteers in a casual and festive setting. Light refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be awarded to lucky winners.

About Us

Stability

Founded in 1952, San Mateo Credit Union has grown over the years to keep pace with the evolving financial needs of our member-owners.  Since we first opened our doors, each year has marked a growth in assets and an expansion of our member base—currently more than $600 million and 68,000, respectively—which is a clear indication of SMCU’s vibrant financial health and operational strength.  We welcome any individual who lives, works, or attends school in San Mateo County.

Advantages
Unlike banks, credit unions are owned by their members.  At SMCU, everything we do is designed with member-owners in mind—from quality services to cost-efficient products to personalized attention.  We return value to everyone who participates in our member-owned financial cooperative, passing our profits on to you in the form of lower loan rates, higher dividends on savings, the lowest possible fees, and many free and practical services.  We also place particular emphasis on safeguarding your privacy at all times, and never sell our members’ information.

Philosophy

Because our member-owners are our most valuable assets, we embrace principles that reflect our commitment to you:

“Not for profit, not for charity, but for service”
“People helping people”

Financial Education
San Mateo Credit Union believes that an educated consumer makes wiser financial choices.  Because we recognize the importance of financial education as a way to help our member-owners attain their financial goals, we practice a strong dedication to financial literacy.  SMCU offers a wide variety of workshops and seminars to local schools and organizations on topics such as money management, budgeting, understanding credit, and safeguarding against identity theft.  For upcoming seminars and special events, click here.

Convenient Locations
Serving communities in San Mateo County and on the peninsula, SMCU has convenient branch locations and ATMs throughout these areas.  For branch and ATM locations, click here.
